The week starts with God. We sing, pray and read to honor God.

After this our work begins. You can call the Monday as well Meeting day. We reflect on our past week and organise the coming week. In addition, we talk about the blog structure.  As well, we are reading the book "Making Peace with the Land" by Fred Bahnson and Norman Wirzba, published in 2012. Every week, we learn new perspectives on God's nature and his creation. We also have some private time to write in our journal, read the Bible, or study Swedish. 


Tisdag (Tuesday)

Picking up a bread donation from a supermarket nearby the church

17.00 Community Meal 


Mostly, we are using our morning to do some personal stuff like reading and journaling. 

Every Tuesday, we receive a bread donation from the Coop. It allows us to provide it to people who are in need. After picking the bread, we have a meeting with the youth group leaders. We speak about next weeks and reflect back to last Friday.  

Then it is time to begin getting ready for the evening. Wether we cook or prepare the room. At 17.OO, everyone is welcome to join our meals. During the time we are open, people get the opportunity to take a shower or choose some clothes. We have a little room for second hand clothes where people can take what they need. The evening ends with a prayer. And that means it is time to clean for us.


Onsdag (Wednesday)

8.30 Morning prayer

9.00 - 12.00 Garden work  

12.00 - 13.00 Lunch

13.00 - 16.00 Garden work

17.00 Dinner with the community


We also begin Wednesdays with a morning prayer. 

And then we start by working in the garden. To be completely honest, Fika is also consumed while working in the garden. But nevertheless it is hard work. Harvesting, preparation work for the winter, working at the chicken house. But once the snow falls and there is nothing more to do, we will cease working in the garden. During winter, we are going to use the time for other ideas. We are also going to have a leadership course, mostly on Wednesday. We will keep you posted. 


Torsdag (Thursday)

10.00 - 12.00 Open church

18.00 - 20.00 Meeting place


On Thursday morning, Valeria and I offer some program for Open Church. Whether it is baking, do handicrafts or playing games. We thought people needed a location where they have a purpose, so we created one.  On Sundays, all of the hard work will be rewarded. All of the handicrafts and cookies will be sold there. The idea is to use the money for people in need. 

In the evening, people are welcome to practice their Swedish or to read in the bible. Therefore, we cook dinner. 


Fredag (Friday)

8.30 Morning prayer

18.00 - 22.30 Youth group 


Friday morning and midday are used to be our personal time. We can do laundry, clean the apartment, read in the bible and do some grocery shopping. Mostly, we have full to-do list.

In the evening, we go to KUL, the youth group in the EFS-kyrkan. We prepare Fika and be part of the program. Sometimes we are also in charge of it.

11.00 - 13.00 Church + Fika - mainly optional, but we're going

A new chapter

Written by Oussama Echchalim      I arrived in Lulea nearly three weeks ago, and life here has been a striking departure from what I'm accustomed to. It's like experiencing the opposite end of the spectrum. The city exudes tranquility; there aren't many residents, and the weather is remarkably cold. This is in stark contrast to Casablanca, a city characterized by its high population density and constant noise. In a way, I believe that's precisely the point. It's why I chose to come here. I could have applied for projects in other countries with more cultural similarities, but I deliberately chose this path. I yearned to live and experience the extreme opposite.
